The NSW Government has launched a new Safer Drivers Course to steer young drivers straight in their most dangerous time.

Roads Minister Duncan Gay launched the Safer Drivers Course, which will reward drivers with extra logbook hours for completing the course. It follows a scheme devised by independent road safety authorities, Mr Gay said “Our board of road safety experts considered the latest research in young driver safety specifically designed for learner drivers and I’m confident it’s a well targeted program.

The course is to be subsidised by the NSW Community Road Safety Fund, to keep costs for learners down to just $140.

A number of logistics, training and road safety groups have already signed up to provide the course, a second round tender for providers will begin in late July, potential providers are encouraged to visit https://tenders.nsw.gov.au/ for more information.
