Job Description
We have a great opportunity for an Environment Lead who will work with our Supply Chain and Retail businesses to delivering soil and groundwater (S&GW) risk management programs. With project portfolio to include complex environmental and remediation projects at key Supply Chain and Retail sites. You will also ensure regulatory compliance is adhered to.
Responsibilities & Requirements
- Drive Goal Zero on all environmental projects within area of responsibility, by influencing operational personnel and contractors.
- Work with 3rd party consultants to develop risk management strategies for reducing soil and groundwater liabilities.
- Develop and manage relationships with regulators, internal and external stakeholders to ensure cost effective remediation strategies.
- Remediation of sites for divestment.
- Management of third-party environmental services consultants and manage their delivery and performance within approved budgets on specific projects.
- Work with Operations and Engineering teams to ensure early engagement with the Environment team to ensure smooth regulatory planning processes.
- Identify regional key soil and groundwater issues, business priorities and projects.
- Ensure regulatory compliance for sites with licence commitments
- Minimum 5- 7 Years of Experience
- Environmental / Engineering /Science/ Technical degree, preferably in environmental management or science.
- Knowledge of S&G risk management.
- Knowledge of regulatory and legislative processes.
- Ability to quickly build relationships, credibility, and trust with external and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent written/oral communication skills.
- Ability to effectively influence stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently, as well as in cross-functional and cross organizational teams.
- Ability to deliver results through others
