About Our Role

- Located in Echuca, regional Victoria
Due to organisational development & growth, an opportunity exists for the newly created position of Workforce Planner at our Echuca food processing facility.
Reporting to the Production Manager, in this Mon-Fri role (with flexibility required during peak production seasons) the Workforce Planner is accountable for planning activities to ensure the site's Production teams are resourced to support plant production operations. With a focus on equal employment opportunities (EEO) and employee engagement, the Workforce Planner will partner closely with the Production Manager and Production Area Managers to develop employee rosters, drive retention strategies, and plan & execute training programs for new & current team members.
What You Will Do
In this collaborative and operationally focused role, key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
- Coordination of the site employee roster (1 week in advance) for approx. 100 production employees across, day / afternoon / night and weekend production shifts to meet the site production plan
- Mitigate operational disruptions by scheduling labour for leave coverage (planned & unplanned) by utilising casual & supplementary employees
- Coordination of leave and rostering for site shutdown periods
- Provide support for the Production team
- Manage labour according to enterprise agreements whilst adhering to EEO & DEI policies
- Use of workforce management tools and software to undertake accurate forecasting and planning
- Management of employee time and attendance (timecards)
- Provide weekly reporting on employee time and attendance
- Liaise with APAC Payroll team & manage payroll queries from employees
- Collaborate with the site Learning & Development Lead to provide input into the site skills / competency matrix
- Proactively identify skills gaps and opportunities for further training of current employees
- Support in developing the annual site recruitment plan for wages / production roles
- Contribute to, and take part in site continuous improvement (CI) initiatives
About You
Possessing an analytical & methodical approach, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following capabilities / experience;
- Possess a 100% commitment to health, safety & wellbeing in the workplace
- Experience with rostering and / or time & attendance systems e.g. UKG is advantageous (but not essential)
- Highly developed skill set in stakeholder engagement and management
- Exposure to National Employment Standards / Enterprise Agreements / FairWork Awards would be advantageous
- Ability to problem solve and work through conflicting stakeholder priorities
- Ability to influence stakeholders to aid in decisions that are of benefit to the overall business
- Hold a high level of organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
- Analytical mindset to provide data-driven decisions
- Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical (incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening)
