Market Operations Officer

$70,314 plus 15% superannuation

ActewAGL is currently seeking a highly motivated and upbeat individual to join our team as our Market Operations Officer.

The role is responsible for managing processes and systems relating to ActewAGL’s registration with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) as a Metering Coordinator (MC). This includes interactions with Business-to-Business (B2B) and Market Settlement and Transfer Solutions (MSATS) systems, meter churn, NMI Standing data management and metering data validation activities.

About Us

The Contestable Business Unit runs contestable business and strategic third party infrastructure projects for ActewAGL Distribution. The following are some of the key projects:

  • Delivery of third party street light construction projects;
  • The ownership and operation of the Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Network;
  • The commercialisation of smart metering capability; and
  • Research and development, and commercialisation of Renewable Gas and Hydrogen to Grid Projects

About the Role

As a Market Operations Officer you will ensure the five core meter data processes are met:

  • Metering Data Collection – ensure all eligible metering installations have metering data collected, receipted and processed;
  • Metering Data Validation – ensuring all metering data collected and processed is validated and accurate in accordance with the National Electricity Rules (NER) and AEMO Metrology Procedure;
  • Metering Data Substitution – ensuring metering data is substituted for periods where missing data or a meter fault is identified;
  • Metering Data Estimation – generation of forward estimate metering data for applicable metering installations, for an agreed read period; and
  • Metering Data Distribution – distribution of validated, substituted and forward estimated metering data to AEMO and eligible participants.

To apply for this role, you will possess:

  • Minimum Year 12 and experienced in data analysis; tertiary qualifications in data management or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in the utility industry.
  • Knowledge of the National Electricity Market and an awareness of related compliance issues.
  • Knowledge in customer information systems, metering data processes, customer transfers and some understanding of the NEM operations lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience with Itron MTS, Itron IEE, and Microsoft Dynamics365 or other customer information and metering data management systems preferred
