Icon Water has a rare and exciting opportunity for an experience leader with strong communication to join as the Team Leader Metering Services. You will be responsible for leading a small team who provide exceptional customer service whilst looking after our water meters which includes asset planning, maintenance and repair, innovation and replacement.

A day in the role:

  • Mentor the team in handling customer complaints, meter defects, backflow compliance, capital works support and data analysis
  • Develop the water metering strategy (including smart meters) and update the metering component of the Asset Management Plans
  • Manage the overall lifecycle of metering assets and lead the revision of metering standards, processes and guidelines.
  • Lead the development of the capital works program for water meters (planned and reactive)
  • Offer technical advice and performance review for our Billing and Meter Reading Contractor
  • Build and nurture positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal business partners

What you will need to be successful:

  • Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and support a small technical team
  • Technical experience relating to water networks and metering
  • Experience in developing and implementing asset management plans
  • Experience in delivering excellent customer service, and can build and nurture positive working relationships
  • Financial experience in asset management and service provision costing and budgeting
  • Strong negotiation skills, to achieve desired outcomes for internal service agreements
  • A tertiary qualification in engineering is preferable, but not essential.
