The Position

Reporting to the Executive Director of SEE this position primary focus will be to ensure the application of standards, rules, and processes within operational division’s results in safe rail operations. Acting as the primary liaison between SEE and operational divisions, the General Manager will develop a strategic approach to safeworking rules and process development whilst ensuring safeworkers in operational divisions have the appropriate skills and support to make safe decisions which support a high-performing railway.

Requirements

To be successful in this position you will have qualifications and experience in safety practices; in particular strengths in railway safeworking. During your career you will have exposure to senior responsibilities in this field, including planning & resourcing of safeworking, leading staff members and advising teams on best practice.

In addition to this you will have developed ability to manage stakeholders both internally in the business and externally. You will understand the importance of external regulators and acted in positions responsible for reporting to such.
