  • To coordinate the development of the  DC SHE Plan through partnering with the leadership team and in consultation with the Regional & National SH&E Team, to deliver on Divisional and site objectives through  engagement of the team.

  • To implement policies and processes to minimise risks and promote amongst the team to achieve  compliance.

  • To implement, maintain and improve Safety & Health programs, systems, tools and training to support compliance.

  • To lead and support SH&E Specialists, Return to Work Coordinators  and Operational Managers on positive strategies based on proactive analysis of information, leading and lagging indicators & culture survey results to promote a positive and resilient SH&E culture for employees, visitors, customers and contractors.

  • To liaise with key stakeholders internally and externally in the event of a Category 1 or 2 incident to share investigation outcomes, provide appropriate communication, prevent recurrence and mitigate further liability.

  • To foster the value of inclusion of SH&E considerations and controls in all management processes to champion a safety culture and a safe working environment.

  • To support  and lead the team to meet current and future SH&E objectives through mentoring, coaching and guiding and rewarding and reinforcing positive performance.

  • To manage and build relationships with internal and  external stakeholders, ensuring ongoing regulatory and legislative compliance. Applying sound judgement and decision-making based on facts and verifiable evidence, professional knowledge and practice.

  • Create a succession plan to cover SH&E Specialists, Return to Work Coordinators and  SH&E Manager’s role in their  absence. May be called upon to cover the Regional SH&E Manager role in their absence.

  • Comply with safety policies, procedures and role responsibilities as defined in the Logistics Division Safety Management System Procedure

To be successful you will:

  • Have 2 years + experience in a similar position

  • Ideally experience with Unions

  • Have knowledge of Australia Safety Legislation

  • Be self Motivated

  • Be proactive

  • Be looking to continuously improve processes
