We are seeking an experienced ER Advisor to join our Employee Relations Team based in our Store Support Office in Williams Landing in West Melbourne. 

What will you do?

Reporting to the National Employee Relations Manager, the primary focus of this role is to provide high level advice to the HR team (across our Stores, Store Support Office and Supply Chain) while also driving employee relations initiatives, handling investigations supporting your stakeholder groups and work closely with them to ensure objectives, strategies and ER projects are met.

Other key responsibilities may include:

  • Support and implement Workplace Relations strategies to support the Business Strategy, including supporting operational change initiatives and developing effective relationships with relevant external parties (e.g. employer associations, unions, government etc.)
  • Supervise and manage employee-related IR disputes and claims
  • Support on the Enterprise Agreement negotiation cycle for the National Retail Agreement and other industrial instruments
  • Provide advice and guidance on all relevant employee relations issues, including changes to employment/anti-discrimination legislation and developments
  • Influence, coach and develop the HR team and line managers to model the desired interpersonal and leadership skills to create a positive working environment in line with our values
  • Work collaboratively with the HRBP’s and State HR Teams to manage the development and implementation of training for line managers in key Workplace Relations policies

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in ER / HR or Law with strong working experience in a similar role within a fast-paced, high volume environment.  Working knowledge of relevant industrial laws is essential as is demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with external parties and at all levels of the organisation along with proven experience in executing a commercial approach to decision making, strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
