Manager - Payroll

The Role:

An exciting opportunity exists to lead the CUB payroll team to deliver seamless end-to-end payroll services to the business. This is a great opportunity to streamline processes and improve synergies with all areas of the business.

You will be up-to-date with the relevant employment legislation including understanding the complexities of award based and expat / inpat populations, as well as current tax, superannuation and Industrial Relations legislation.

It is vital for this role that you are passionate about embedding a high performance team culture, and take accountability for your teams results.  

Outputs and accountabilities:

  • Lead the Australian payroll team, motivating team members to provide a high quality payroll service.
  • Identify and lead process improvements throughout the payroll process, encouraging your team to incorporate continuous improvement into daily practices.
  • Work closely with People Business Partners, and Centre of Excellence (COE) leads to understand stakeholder needs and develop positive working relationships to create trust and accountability.
  • Manage payroll and time and attendance systems and ensure they are kept up to date.
  • Ensure high quality data is maintained in systems and employee personnel files are kept up to date.
  • Design and implement governance and control frameworks for payroll policies and processes.
  • Manage effective internal and external audit, compliance and performance reporting as well as any other reporting requirements to meet business needs   

 What we look for:

  • Passionate about team leadership, including previous leadership of a Payroll team.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of operational Payroll processes/practices.
  • Prior experience working with payroll and time and attendance systems.
  • In-depth understanding of the current tax legislation and superannuation requirements, incl. Single Touch Payroll.
  • Prior experience managing pay and conditions for foreign expat/inpats.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, and confident at interpreting data to drive decision making.
