ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a fantastic opportunity for a suitably experienced individual who enjoys working within a dynamic team, managing staff and coordinating road maintenance programs. The successful applicant will be joining a growing unit with a strong and supportive team culture.

As the Works officer you will be responsible managing a team of 12 outdoor staff and setting them up for success. You will be managing works programs to ensure they are carried out in a cost effective manner, ensure all works carried out are to Councils standards, and you will play a vital role in continuous improvements. The role would best suited for you if you have a thorough understanding of work in road maintenance and construction practices.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE 

  • Proven experience in road maintenance and the construction industry
  • Prior experience in planning and delivering maintenance works programs
  • A valid Driver’s licence and White/Red card
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a success team

The ability to read and understand plans, drawings, maps and construction plans
