The opportunity:

Visy Logistics, part of the wider Visy Group, has global logistics capabilities to service our expansive ANZ manufacturing operations and our growing 3PL customer base. Visy Logistics has significant growth objectives, and a key responsibility of this role is to develop logistics solutions to underpin our growth aspirations.

Reporting to the State Manager, your primary role involves overseeing all aspects of Logistics for Visy Glass NSW Metro operations, including internal warehousing, transport, and third-party logistics. Responsibilities encompass managing the Visy Glass Distribution cost budget and corresponding Visy Logistics P&L. The focus is on continuous improvement and strategic alignment with overall planning and execution. People management involves developing succession plans, defining key metrics, and fostering collaboration among internal and external stakeholders to meet service level agreements.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Manage all Visy Glass NSW warehouses both on-site and off-site ensuring safe and efficient operations by adhering to site policy and procedures
  • Manage the efficient utilisation of the Visy Logistics transport fleet, ensuring execution of planned rotation and maintenance activities
  • Develop Warehouse and Transport strategies, frameworks, and operational plans that align with Visy Glass and Visy Logistics’ business strategies
  • Manage and control Visy Logistics Transport and Warehousing P&Ls, reporting on any variances to plan
  • Support continuous improvement opportunities including warehouse automation, developing new processes and procedures for the changing environment
  • Lead and guide a department of 30 total staff of warehouse staff, offering coaching and performance feedback
  • Develop and maintain all relevant procedures and documentation
  • Monitor loading practices vs. best practices to ensure limited quality impacts.
  • Maintain relevant project documentation, business case and tracking files

What you will bring to the team:

  • 5+ years as a functional or process leader in Logistics & Supply Chain in a multi-site manufacturing environment
  • Tertiary qualified in Logistics, Supply Chain, Accounting or Engineering
  • Background in FMCG or Consumer Goods sector
  • Experience with SAP & Lean 6 Sigma (desirable)
  • Experience providing leadership and effective commercial and operational decision making within a complex and demanding supply chain environment
  • Excellent time management with quick and effective decision-making ability
