Development Engineer

Our Engineering Services Department is responsible for the effective and sustainable management of Council's infrastructure assets, including the design, maintenance and delivery of a number of asset-related services.

This position plays a key role in ensuring the subdivision construction process for roads, drainage and ancillary works is carried out in accordance with City requirements, and is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills within  a growth municipality.

Key responsibilities

  • Check drawings and specifications.
  • Oversee subdivision works.
  • Monitor construction techniques and procedures.
  • Liaise with developers, consultants and contractors.
  • Advise on development planning approvals.
  • Provide property information.

Key attributes

  • Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering.
  • Ability to apply theoretical engineering principles to drawings and documentation.
  • Great organisational skills.
  • Ability to a prioritise a busy and varied workload.
  • Ability to quickly build rapport with other engineering professionals and stakeholders.
