Our Position:

Reporting to the Head of Safety and based in our Hobart office, the WHS Systems and Programs Coordinator will play a pivotal role in assisting with the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of our WHS systems and programs.

Through direct engagement with a wide range of corporate and operational stakeholders, the position holder will champion system compliance and improvement opportunities as well as health and wellness programs, while leveraging performance data to influence improved safety outcomes both on and off the water.

With responsibility for oversight of system and WHS project integration across all of Tassal’s operations, the position holder will:

  • Assist with the keeping up to date of WHS policies, processes and work practices, ensuring the alignment with relevant standards, codes of practice and legislative requirements
  • Collate, analyse and report against a range of key WHS performance indicators
  • Maintain systems and databases for a wide range of regulated plant and other specialist equipment
  • Manage Tassal’s contractor database to ensure adherence with safety standards
  • Assist with the development, integration and championing of key WHS sections of the health and wellbeing program
  • Engage with operational teams and compliance staff to maintain an effective, fit-for-purpose system, anticipating the changing needs of the business.

You:

An accomplished safety professional with a proven track record in the development and maintenance of effective safety management systems, you will be highly motivated to make a positive difference to our people and the broader community through the championing of high standards in WHS performance.

Commercially astute and end user focussed, you will draw upon your experience in operational environments to establish practical solutions that enable improved business outcomes.

Critically, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A high-level understanding of WHS legislation, standards and codes of practice as they relate to industrial and/or maritime operations
  • Strong technical competence in the application of contemporary and best practice WHS management practices
  • The capacity to analyse performance data and make recommendations to drive continuous improvement
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in a WHS related field or substantial equivalent experience.
