Brockman Resources Limited has appointed Russell Tipper, formerly General Manager with Aquila Resources Limited, as Chief Executive Officer.

 

Mr Tipper has over 30 years experience in mining operations, finance and project development throughout Australia. A mining engineer, he has worked in senior management and operational roles in steel raw materials operations, producing iron ore, coal and manganese for both Robe River Mining  Ltd and BHP Billiton.

 

Following a short period as Group Treasurer for North Limited, involved in funding, M&A and risk management, Mr Tipper led project teams in producing bankable feasibility studies for projects including Hope Downs Iron Ore for Hancock Prospecting and Kumba Resources of South Africa, and the Karara Magnetite and Mungada Hematite Projects for Thiess in alliance with Gindalbie Metals.

 

At Aquila Resources, Mr Tipper was responsible for oversight of the West Pilbara Iron Ore Project being conducted by the Australian Premium Iron Joint Venture, in which Aquila holds a 50% interest. He was also responsible for the development of Aquila’s iron ore and manganese prospects in South Africa.

 

Mr Tipper will commence with Brockman on 1 March 2012.
